Imphal, July 20 2025: The Laishram Samarendra Birth Centenary Celebration Committee on Sunday inaugurated the year-long birth centenary celebration of noted writer Laishram Samarendra Singh.

The inaugural function held at Manipur Press Club was graced by dignitaries, including Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam president Phuritsabam Birmani, Sahitya Akademi Awardee Yumlembam Ibomcha and Prof Polem Nabachandra Singh, former Dean, School of Humanities, Manipur University.

The celebration began with the presentation of 'Lengyan' followed by a floral tribute to Late Laishram Samarendra Singh.

Saratchand Thiyam, convenor of Celebration Committee delivered the keynote address.

The function was marked by the release of a souvenir and recitation of Late Laishram Samarendra's poems.
