Imphal, August 14 2025: Assam Rifles organised a special Ayurveda and Siddha medical consultation programme at Pallel Garrison, Kakching district on Thursday, featuring renowned traditional medicine expert Dr K Vasu, whose integrative healing approach drew wide participation of personnel, veterans, and family members of the Assam Rifles fraternity, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release.

According to the PRO, the event aims to introduce time-tested Indian medical systems - Ayurveda and Siddha - as complementary wellness options for the force's community.

These ancient traditions, which date back thousands of years, focus on balancing bodily energies, preventive care, and natural healing through herbs, minerals and lifestyle adjustments.

Siddha medicine, in particular, is rooted in Tamil Nadu and emphasises the harmony of the three humors - Vatha, Pitham and Ka-bam - alongside the five elements of nature.

The initiative aligns with Assam Rifles' broader wellness outreach efforts across the Northeast, including yoga camps, women's health drives, and youth empowerment programmes, the PRO added.
