Imphal, May 05 2025: College Development Council of Manipur University and Association of Manipur Teacher Education Institutes (AMTEI) jointly organised a sensitisation workshop on 'Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)' at the Court Hall of Manipur University on Monday.

The workshop was attended by Manipur University VC Prof N Lokendra as chief guest, School of Education dean Prof Premlata Maisnam as president and Eastern Regional Committee, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) chairperson Prof Dibyajyoti Mahanta as guest of honour cum speaker.

Speaking at the event, Prof Premlata explained that ITEP is a reformation programme related with NEP-2020 and recognised by NCTE in around 64 higher education and teacher education institutes.

She informed that an application had been filed last year to recognise ITEP in Manipur and the same is currently in process.

Once ITEP is recognised, it would allow the representation of Manipuris in NCTE, thereby helping implementation of the programme.

She then stressed the need for higher institutions to learn and understand about ITEP through the workshop.

The workshop was attended by teachers from various colleges in the state.
