Imphal, July 04 2025:
Imphal West DC has informed that Aadhaar biometric capturing and updating for all students in the district will begin from July 7, 2025, as part of an enrolment drive aimed at ensuring 100 per cent Aadhaar saturation among school-going children.
The notification issued Friday outlined that the campaign aims to streamline and improve the implementation of various government welfare schemes through accurate and updated Aadhaar data.
Aadhaar enrolment camps will be conducted at Millennium School, Patsoi Part IV (July 7-9); Black Bird English School, Thangal Keithel (July 7-14); Little Master English Higher Secondary School, Samurou (July 7-9); and Catholic School in Canchipur (July 10,11 & 14) .
The camps will be held from 10 am to 3 pm on all scheduled days.
The DC urged parents to accompany their children to the designated enrolment centres on the allotted dates with original documents.
For children below the age of five, a birth certificate and Aadhaar numbers of both parents are required, and one parent must be physically present for biometric authentication.
For students aged five years and above, valid caste certificates such as ST, SC, or OBC, along with a domicile or UIDAI certificate bearing a photo signed by a gazetted officer, are required.
Special provisions have been made for physically challenged students, who must bring their disability certificate with a photograph.
Children residing in orphanages must present a UIDAI certificate signed and sealed by the head of a recognised shelter home or institution.
The notification stressed that all documents must be presented in original form only.
It also clarified that UIDAI certificates must be filled out in capital letters and that the use of erasers or whiteners on any document is strictly prohibited.
The administration has urged schools and parents to cooperate fully with the enrolment teams to ensure the successful completion of the drive and the smooth integration of students into Aadhaar-linked schemes.
