AR reaches out to villagers, ex-servicemen

Assam Rifles organised 'A Day with Company Commander' along with a medical camp at Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district on May 2 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the day brought smiles and spirit to the community, starting with a series of friendly competitions such as football, volleyball, drawing contest and fun filled games.
Around 25 students took part with zeal.
The event also focused on community health with a medical team of AR providing check-ups, advice and essential medicines.
A total of 76 villagers (24 men, 37 women and 15 children) received care for various common health issues, it added.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles inaugurated a dedicated Outpatient Department (OPD) service for ex-servicemen at Modi village, Chandel district on May 2 .
According to PRO IGAR (S), the initiative aims to provide regular medical care to retired service personnel in the remote region of Manipur.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed participation of around 40 veterans, mem bers of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Chandel and local community leaders.
The chief medical officer announced that OPD services will be available twice a week, ensuring sustained support for the veteran community, it added.
