DIPR short film competition winners announced

Imphal, July 25 2025:
The result of the Short Film Competition 2025, held on the theme "My City, My Responsibility", organised by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), has been declared on Friday.
The competition was aimed at raising awareness on pressing social issues through storytelling.
The top three winners were selected for their outstanding contributions.
The first prize was clinched by 'Tamjaningai', directed by Devadarshan Gurumayum of Khamaran, Imphal West.
Waikhom Gulshan Meitei of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal secured the second prize for his film 'My Little Guardian', while Hijam Ibomcha Singh of Thoubal Athokpam Mayai Leikai bagged the third prize for his film titled 'Thoudang (Duty)'.
In addition, two consolation prizes were awarded to the films 'If I Can, You Surely Can...Disability Didn't Stop Me', directed by Sorokhaibam Sailesh Singh of Kodompokpi Mayai Leikai, and 'Fan', directed by Mayengbam Bobo Singh of Komlakhong Mayai Leikai.
All entries in the Short Film Competition were scrutinised and assessed by a committee comprising renowned filmmakers, subject experts, and a representative of the department.
DIPR invites further entries to the ongoing Short Film Competition under themes such as 'Say No to Single-Use Plastic', 'E-Challan Awareness', 'Unity in Diversity', and 'Support, Don't Punish' .
Filmmakers, content creators, and the public are encouraged to participate to promote awareness and positive change in society.
