Kakching, July 20 2025: In connection with the 76th Van Mahotsav celebration, a tree plantation drive was organised at Mantak Tarunghoubi Chinggol by the Range Officer Kakching in collaboration with Kakching Public School.

The plantation drive, initiated under the aegis of the Thoubal Forest Division was attended by Range Officer Kakching, Huidrom Sunder; Headmaster of Kakching Public School, Leishangthem Keshwarchandra Singh along with teachers and students of Kakching Public School and various officials of Forest Department.

Speaking in this connection, Range Officer Kakching Huidrom Sunder appreciated the active participation of students in the plantation drive and lauded their voluntary efforts.

He highlighted that although the Forest Department, in collaboration with various civil society organisations, Meira Paibis, and individuals, has conducted several tree plantation drives in recent years, many have failed to ensure the survival of the saplings.

He therefore urged the public to take responsibility for nurturing the trees after planting, emphasizing the need to make continuous efforts to ensure the trees grow well, so that humanity can reap long-term benefits.
