AR aids school week, distributes clothing

Assam Rifles organised school week at Sehlon Junior School, Chandel district to showcase their commitment to fostering sportsmanship and youth empowerment in the region.
According to a release issued by PRO IGAR (S), the event held from November 14 to 17, featured a half mini marathon, football and volleyball league matches for men and women, athletics and literary events including poem recitation, word meaning and extempore.
In the closing ceremony, Assam Rifles awarded the winners and participants with trophies and gift hampers, recognising their hard work.
The winners were also motivated to pursue careers in sports, with assurances of guidance and encouragement from Assam Rifles.
On the other hand, as part of the weeklong celebration of Children's Day with the children of Ema Foundationin Imphal West district, Assam Rifles extended support by distributing winter clothing and shoes to help the children bear the harsh winter months.
Ema Foundation is an orphanage, situated in Keithelmanbi, a sensitive area between the Imphal valley and Kangpokpi district, is a beacon of harmony and resilience.
The foundation provides a safe haven for 18 children, said the PRO.
