Imphal, July 15 2025:
In connection with the upcoming observance of World Indigenous Day, Federation of Indigenous People's Democratic Movement (FIDM) announced that every mother under 45 years of age with five or more children will be honoured.
In a release, FIDM publicity secretary Jitmei Mangang called as unfortunate that couples are having only one or two children after falling into the trap of India's family planning policy.
The decline in childbirth is attributed to growing dependency on others and frequent use of caesarean sections (CS) by doctors driven by selfish financial motives, he claimed.
As such along with observance of the World Indigenous Day which falls on August 9, FIDM will honour Sanamahi-religion following mothers under the age of 45 who have five or more children with the stated objective of encouraging higher child birth rates in the state, explained the secretary, urging eligible mothers to submit forms to its Langol Game Village Zone 1 office near Meira Shang from July 17 till 25 or contact mobile numbers 7085311378, 9206143070, 7630881981 for relevant details.
