According to officials, the recent floods severely impacted all three assembly constituencies within Kangpokpi district, displacing thousands and leaving families grappling with food insecurity and lack of basic necessities.
For maintaining transparency and accountability, the organisers installed board at the distribution site listing approximately 30 types of essential items provided to each beneficiary, such as rice, dal, edible oil, sugar, potato, onion, salt, eggs, sanitary napkins, mosquito nets, mosquito coils, soap, handwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other essentials - each item meticulously accounted for with its respective quantity and cost.
A complaint box was also installed on-site, enabling the beneficiaries to voice any grievances, feedback, or suggestions, thereby ensuring a participatory and transparent distribution process.
HAI and its partners have further announced that the second phase of distribution will cover Saitu and Saikul assembly constituencies in Kangpokpi district.
