Legal awareness programme held

Imphal, July 13 2025:
Organisation for Unemployed Women Welfare (ORUWOW) organised one day legal awareness programme-cum-closing ceremony of the 10-day skill development training for SHGs and distribution of handlooms at its Shakti Sadan, Wangoi Luxmi Bazar on Saturday.
Speaking at the programme, ORUWOW chief functionary Anajali Rajkumari informed that the legal awareness programme was specifically conducted for residents of Shakti Sadan, which is funded by Ministry of Women & Child Development.
As a part of the programme, five handlooms (complete sets) were distributed to select women from SHGs and beneficiaries in possession of Handloom Weavers Yarn pass book provided by the Department of Textiles, Commerce & Industries.
The skill development training & distribution of handloom was for SHG members staying at Laphupat High School relief camp.
The programme was attended by District Handloom & Textiles, Imphal West project manager (H/L) L Dasumati Devi as chief guest with Legal Aid Clinic, Imphal West advocates Laishram Rebeda and Thaoroijam Ibeyaima Devi a resource persons.
In all, 48 women including SHG members also took part at the programme.
