State youth joins UK's East Sussex Council

Imphal, July 11 2025:
Arvind Moirangthem, a 27-year old professional from Manipur has been appointed as a civil service officer under the Brighton and Hove City Council in East Sussex, United Kingdom.
As a customer grievances redressal officer of the Council, Arvind will oversee complaints related to the management of over 15,000 housing units, coordinating with departments to resolve issues and serve over 40,000 residents empathetically in the city of Brighton and Hove.
He officially joined the Council on July 8 .

Prior to joining the local government, Arvind worked as an education assistant at Chailey Heritage Foundation (April-July 2025), where he supported children and young people with complex needs, besides working as a face-to-face fundraiser for Sustrans UK (March-April 2025), where he promoted awareness of the National Cycling Network, collected public feedback, advocated sustainable transport infrastructure, and represented the organisation with professionalism.
Born on 6 June, 1998 in Keibul Lamjao, Bishnupur district, Arvind is the second child of Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh and Dhamabati Devi.
He has one elder sister and two younger brothers.
During his school years, he was also an avid footballer, earning prizes and medals in competitions held across Delhi.
Deeply passionate about inclusive governance, education access, and international collaboration, Arvind credits his parents for his educational journey and emphasises discipline, consistency, and integrity as keys to success.
He aspires to contribute meaningfully to Manipur's development while showcasing the global potential of its youth.
Underscoring the immense potential of Manipur's youth, Arvind stated: "No matter how far we go, our roots remain central to the values we carry and the impact we strive to make".
In his message to the youth, Arvind stressed on the importance of punctuality in studies, along with consistency, discipline, moral integrity and physical fitness, expressing firm belief that these qualities are essential in shaping a purposeful and fulfilling life.
Arvind holds a Master's degree in Governance, Development, and Public Policy from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, where he graduated with high distinction in 2024.He completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science at Hindu College, University of Delhi.
