Symposium dissects life of RK Jhalajit

Imphal, May 11 2025: Sahitya Akademi and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal jointly organised a symposium on the 'Life and Works of RK Jhalajit Singh' at the auditorium of Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Nityaipat Chuthek, here, on Sunday.

The programme was attended by Sahitya Akademi Manipuri Advisory Board convenor Rajen Toijamba and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal president L Joychandra Singh as dignitaries on the dais.

In his speech, Joychandra expressed that the journey of Manipur's art and culture is nothing short of a wonder.

He said that history and culture are inseparable, with one impacting the other.

In addition, Manipuri literature has been around for a long time and praised poetically, which are masterpieces in their own right.

During the first session of the symposium chaired by retired IAS Kangjam Radhakumar Singh, Kh Gokulchandra Singh and Th Ibohanbi Singh presented their papers.

The second session chaired by P Nabachandra Singh, had K Hemchandra Singh, Koijam Shantibala Devi and Y Kunjabihari presenting papers on life and works of RK Jhalajit.
