Lok Adalat held in Noney, 8 cases settled

Noney, May 10 2025:
A National Lok Adalat programme, organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Tamenglong and sponsored by the Manipur State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, was held Saturday at the premises of Manipur Rural Bank, Noney Branch, Longmai Bazar, Noney district.
The Adalat was presided over by Adalat chairman Arshad Saeed Shah - who is the chief judicial magistrate of Tamenglong and secretary of DLSA Tamenglong - with advocate Jonah Inka attending the session as a member.

The event was also attended by Ramas Ri-amei, branch manager of State Bank of India, Noney, and Elvis Phaomei, branch manager of Manipur Rural Bank, along with Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) from the Noney Legal Aid Clinic and other officials.
During the Lok Adalat, nine pre-litigation bank-related cases were taken up, of which eight were successfully settled.
The total settlement amount reached Rs 15,65,265 .
