Bishnupur, June 30 2025: The Meitei Huyen Lalong Shindam Shanglen, Satjal Academy Western Headquarters No 1 Konthoujam, inaugurated a new branch at Kabowakching Khunou on Monday.

The inauguration function commenced with the Hoisting of the Satjal flag by former Bishnupur ZEO Nongthombam Chingkhei.

The event was attended by Kabowakching Model Club president Khaba Mangang Rameshwar Sanabam, former Nambol Municipal Council Ward No 12 councillor RK Kunjeshwori, former Ward No 11 councillor Chandam Bikram and United Protection Committee, Nambol convenor Thokchom Netaji Moirangcha as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) secretary Y Meiraba Angom stated that there are currently 260 Satjal Academies operating under the 36 headquarters of the UFO across the state.

These academies, he said, are dedicated to preserving and promoting the ancient culture and traditions of the Meetei community.

"It is our responsibility to protect and promote our rich cultural heritage and show the world that the Meeteis have a distinct and unique identity," he said.
