Bodies air grievances, Governor assures

Imphal, July 21 2025:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla met with representatives from multiple organisations at Raj Bhavan on Monday and received memoranda and requests on a range of issues concerning welfare and development.
Representatives of the Ex-Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) Association, led by David K Shimray and seven other members, submitted a memorandum outlining their grievances and seeking welfare measures.
The Governor acknowledged their concerns and assured them that the matter would be reviewed.
A team of Tribal Youth Council, Manipur, led by Momo Tantanga, also met the Governor and submitted a charter of demands concerning the welfare of tribal communities in the state.
They highlighted issues including manpower shortage in the Tribal Affairs and Hills department, which they said had adversely affected administration.
They also raised concerns over the deteriorating infrastructure of several schools and sought assistance to ensure a conducive learning environment.
The Governor assured that infrastructure development would be given priority and their concerns addressed.
Md Yunus Khan, along with members of the Wheelchair Basketball Association of Manipur, met the Governor and sought approval to use Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium or an alternative facility for practice sessions.
They also informed the Governor that the Manipur team would be participating in an upcoming national-level tournament in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
ISCKON NE zonal secretary HG Ekanath Das, along with four others, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor and extended an invitation for him to attend the Janmashtami celebration scheduled on August 16, 2025, as chief guest.
