ITLF calls off indefinite shutdown

Churachandpur, June 21 2025:
The indefinite total shutdown called by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) since Thursday (June 19, 2025) midnight was called off at 3 pm on Saturday after an amicable solution was reached between the ITLF and the district administration at the former's office.
The agreement Was reached as per the tribal customary law in connection with the death of an elderly woman, Hoikholhing, chief of Langchingmanbi village, according to a press statement issued by the ITLF .
The meeting began at 1 pm on Saturday.
The ITLF further stated that the mortarl remains of Hoikholhing would now be laid to rest at Martyr Cemetery, Sehken, under the leadership of the Joint Philanthropic Organisation (JPO) .
The ITLF extended its gratitude to the womenfolk and the general-public for their relentless support in securing justice for Hoikholhing.
