AR launches yoga awareness drive

Assam Rifles launched a mass yoga awareness drive across Imphal East and West, Kakching, Chandel, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Tegnoupal, Kamjong, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the stress management course held from April 24-28 at Sajik Tampak and Sehlon saw 80 participants focusing on mental and physical benefits.
A two-week training of trainers programme at Modi involved 50 personnel, while a week-long course at Chandel included 20 participants.
Children's summer camps between May 20 and June 5 at Assam Rifles Public School, Keithelmanbi, integrated yoga into the education of 65 students.
Community awareness efforts on June 10 included lectures and yoga practice for over 200 villagers, with separate sessions for women and children in Eastern Indo-Myanmar border villages.
Yoga events between June 11 and 19 at various locations, including Phaikoh, Churachandpur, and Bethel High School, Moreh, involved hundreds of participants in yoga demonstrations and themed sessions.
Creative engagements from June 19 to 20 featured drawing and painting competitions on yoga themes across multiple villages, with 103 participants.
Medical awareness and wellness lectures in June, alongside yoga sessions, reached over 200 participants in remote areas.
Overall, these initiatives saw active participation from 2,300 attendees, including children, women, troops, and local authorities across various remote and central regions, the PRO informed in a release.
