AR conducts recruitment rally, training

Imphal, November 18 2024: Assam Rifles organised a recruitment rally for enrolment in Territorial Army (TA) at Somsai for candidates from Kamjong, Ukhrul, Senapati, Kangpokpi; and Tamenglong district.

Informing that the rally drew over 2000 young participants, PRO IGAR (S) said the objective was to fill 225 vacancies for soldier general duty, clerks, and tradesmen positions in the TA.

The assessment included 1.6 km run, chin-ups, 9-feet ditch, and other endurance exercises, followed by thorough medical examinations and documentation.

The PRO further stated that the primary goal of the recruitment rally was to provide employment opportunities while inspiring local youth to join the armed forces.

Meanwhile, the fifth phase of pre-recruitment training capsule conducted by the Assam Rifles was organised for the local youths of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts at Shangshak village in Ukhrul from October 10 to November 16.According to the PRO, 20 youths from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, who attended the fifth phase of pre recruitment training capsule, were provided with free of cost study materials required for the various competitive exams for enrolment to security forces, as well as mess and accommodation.

The capsule was planned and executed to give equal weightage to both academic and physical training, said the PRO.
