Imphal, May 12 2025: Barkha Aribam, daughter of Aribam Dhananjoy Sharma of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai, Imphal West, has secured 14th All India Rank in the National Institute of Design (NID) 2025 entrance examination for postgraduate studies.

Barkha appeared for the NID Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT) for the Lifestyle Accessory Design programme, securing AIR 14 in the open category and topping the OBC-NCL Category with Rank 1.The NID entrance exam is conducted in two stages - Prelims and Mains - and is known for its rigorous evaluation process.

The DAT assesses a candidate's creativity, design aptitude, observational skills, analytical thinking and general knowledge.

The prelims consist of a pen-and-paper test, while the mains involve a studio-based practical test and a personal interview.

The NID-DAT is considered one of the toughest design entrance exams in India, attracting thousands of aspiring designers each year.
