CRU (NER) backs strike call, lists demands

Centre of Medical & Sales Representatives' Union, North East region CRU (NER) has declared sup port to the nation-wide general strike called on Wednesday by Trade Unions to protest NDA government's labour law policies.
A release issued by CRU (NER) president M Manihar Singh informed that their demands include restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur, free movement on highways and deployment of highway protection force in all highways, lift ban on entry of medical representatives in government hospitals and institutions, reduce prices of essential commodities and medicines, declare Rs 26,910 as minimum wages and Rs 9000 as minimum pension, fill up vacant posts, lift ban on new post creation, remove GST on essential items like Agro inputs, food medicines, machineries, etc., scrap NPS and restore old pension system, strengthen public sector banks, insurance companies, 200 days of work at Rs 600 per day in MGNREGA, 100 days Urban Employment Generation Act, regularisation of casual, contractual, scheme workers, withdraw enhanced prices of diesel & petroleum items and withdraw Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, Post Office Act 2023 and Electricity (Amendment), Bill, 2022 .
