KIMACS calls meet on Lai Haraoba dance, attires

Concerned about the dilution of the traditional dance forms and attires during Lai Haraoba Festival, Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has convened a meeting on July 20 at 2:30 PM.
The meeting will be held at its Government Dance College head office, Palace Compound.
In a statement, KIMACS said the meeting shall have deliberations on the evolving trends in the traditional and cultural dance forms of Lai Haraoba, and focus on the past, present, and future of these dance forms.
KIMACS urged dance teachers and gurus concerned to attend meeting so to address and intervene in the challenges affecting the traditional and cultural dance forms of the Lai Haraoba festival and to take timely corrective measures.
During the meeting, resolutions will be adopted unanimously, and rules and regulations will be formulated.
Therefore, all dance teachers, gurus and individuals involved in costume design are urged to attend without fail and actively participate in this collective effort to rectify the deviations in the evolving trends of dance and attire in Lai Haraoba.
