AR rescues civilian from buffer zone

Imphal, August 05 2025:
Assam Rifles operating under Spear Corps, rescued a civilian who inadvertently entered a restricted buffer zone between two districts and later handed him over to local law enforcement authorities.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the individual was travelling alone on a two-wheeler from Chandel district during late evening hours and mistakenly entered a restricted area along the inter-district boundary between Chandel and Kakching.
Upon receiving timely information, troops from a mobile vehicle check post (MVCP) swiftly located the civilian, ensured his safety, and conducted necessary verification.
The individual was promptly handed over to local law enforcement authorities for further facilitation.
The matter was handled with patience and discretion to maintain peace and prevent any miscommunication in the high-sensitivity zone.
In close coordination with local stakeholders, Assam Rifles ensured calm prevailed, reaffirming its role as a neutral and dependable peacekeeping force in the region, the PRO maintained.
