WAMA sustains efforts to install Akaba's photo in schools

Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba (WAMA) continued its campaign to install Luchingpurel Chingsubam Oja Akaba's photos in schools located in valley areas as per the agreement between the organisation and All Manipur Recognised Private School Welfare Association.
In a release, WAMA stated that the campaign began from June 30 in several schools in Imphal East.
On Friday, the organisation led by its secretary general N Debeswor, secretary organisation Moirangthem Suresh and joint secretary L Bimola and women secretary L Priyaluxmi visited several schools in Imphal East namely Leisemba Maheikol, Chingarel, Konsam Tomba and Sachi School, Daina English School, Porompat, Friendship Educational School, Khurai and Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Porompat.
They highlighted the efforts and sacrifice made by Chingsubam Akaba in reviving language, script and indigenous religion.
He was a person who worked tirelessly for abridging the gap between the hills and the valley, the release continued.
The release appealed to school authorities to warmly welcome the members of WAMA and support them while visiting schools for the campaign and further stated that those who wanted photographs of Chingsubam Akaba can contact mobile number 8794863350, it added.
