Three UGs arrested; stolen vehicles recovered

Imphal, July 03 2025:
Security forces arrested three cadres of different proscribed organisations in separate operations on Tuesday and Thursday, while also issuing 47 challans to motor vehicle offenders and recovering two stolen vehicles, according to a statement from the police control room.
On Wednesday, police arrested a cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (Pro), identified as Oinam Hemanjit Singh alias Taibangsemba (50) of Thangalawai Sabal Leikai.
He was arrested from Meitram area under Nambol police station in Imphal district.
Police seized one diesel auto and two mobile handsets from his possession.
On Tuesday, police arrested another UG cadre, identified as Lourembam Suresh alias Mairongba alias Toto (47) belonging to KCP (PWG), from Elangkhanpokpi Awang Leikai, Maning Pat under Waikhong PS in Kakching district.
One mobile phone was seized from him.
In a separate operation the same day, security forces apprehended a cadre of KCP (PWG) from Sekmaijin Maning Leikai area under Hiyanglam PS, also in Kakching district.
The arrested individual has been identified as Oinam Tomba Singh alias Hero-jit (57) of Tumuldiong Awang Leikai, Imphal East district.
According to police, he was involved in extortion activities targeting various oil pumps in Kakching and Thoubal districts.
A keypad mobile handset was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, police issued 47 challans to offenders of motor vehicle rules across the state, collecting fines amounting to Rs 91,000.On Tuesday, two stolen vehicles were recovered and tinted films were removed from 21 vehicles during routine checks.
