AR observes World Nutrition Week

Imphal, September 02 2024: Assam Rifles organised a series of events at Joupi and Phaisanjang villages in Chandel district to mark the observance of World Nutrition Week, which commenced from Sunday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the events were conducted with the aim to promote awareness on health and provide essential medical services to the local communities.

At Phaisanjang village, a medical camp offering free health check-ups and distribution of essential medicines to those in need was conducted with active participation of locals.

The PRO stated at Joupi village, healthcare professionals conducted an informative lecture on nutrition for the young generation, focusing on the importance of a balanced diet, proper nutrition, and its impact on overall health and well-being.

The children participants gained valuable insights into making healthier food choices and understanding the role of nutrition in preventing various diseases, it added.
