COCOMI Students' Front decries in-charge post in Jiri

Jiribam, July 01 2025: Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Students' Front, Jiribam has decried that amid conveyances to the government for posting regular officials in various departments, the government has issued an order transferring incumbent Jiribam SP and deputing an officer as the SP in-charge.

Addressing the media at the office of DESAM, Jiribam District Council on Tuesday, COCOMI Students' Front convener K Somorjit stated that it has been demanding appointment of regular principals at Jiri College and Jiribam Higher Sec -ondaty School instead of making appointments on in-charge basis in the district.

Contrary to such genuine proposals, on June 28, undersecretary (DP) M Rabichandra issued an order transferring the Jiribam SP and deputing the 7th IRB CO as in-charge as Jiribam SP in-charge.

He also urged the government to abandon the practice of appointing in-charge in the district.

The press meet was also attended by other members of COCOMI Students' Front.
