People will suffer sans good leaders: Satyabrata

Imphal, July 21 2025: Noting that the people of Manipur, who have endured much suffering would face even greater hardships if they cannot find good and visionary leaders, Yaiskul MLA and Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata has appealed to the people identify and follow such leaders.

Satyabrata made the appeal during the concluding session of the month-long 57th foundation celebration of Diamond Club, Ayangpalli and inauguration of the club's new building on Monday.

As chief guest at the event, Th Satyabrata said every locality in Manipur have clubs and Meira Paibi and these institutions take key decisions in resolving social issues and act as local government.

Beginning from these small and local institutions, good leaders are very much required to bring development and peace or else people will suffer more, he said and called upon the people of the state to select good leaders and follow them.

The event was also attended by Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro, Keirao MLA L Rameswar, Kshetrigao MLA Shiekh Noorul Hassan, Sahitya Akademi awardee MB Mais-namba and Diamond Club president Toijam Saratkumar.

MLA L Rameswar also said that all the MLAs of Manipur Legislative Assembly, except speaker Th Satyabrata, are unable to perform duties due to imposition of President's Rule.

However, steps to form a new government with Th Satyabrata as leader had been initiated with the support of MLAs, he said and appealed to the people to extend support to the new initiative.
