Rongmei Naga Council, Jiri CSOs settle dispute

Jiribam, June 21 2025: An agreement was reached between Rongmei Naga Council(RNC), Jiribam and Jiribam CSOs and Meira Paibi organisations over a minor conflict that occurred on June 18, during a joint meeting held at Tribal Bhawan, Kamrang on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons with regard to the meeting, RNC Jiribam chairman Tahemang Panmei informed that the meeting was held to condemn the assault of PHED Jiribam junior engineer Dijinlakpou Rongmei by three residents from Jiribam IB Leikai.

He continued that the meeting, attended by various CSOs and Meira Paibi Lups, discussed the incident and an understanding was reached after the three individuals tendered their apologies.

An agreement was signed to prevent any such incident in the future which may disturb peace in the district, Tahemang said.
