Training for Anganwadi workers underway

Kakching, August 19 2025:
Sessions on child nutrition, hygiene, and community engagement were conducted on Tuesday, the second day of the three-day training programme for Anganwadi workers on 'Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi' organised by Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project, Kakching and Department of Social Welfare, under the supervision of Kakching district administration at Library and Information Centre, Kakching.
The day began with a recap and expectation setting by Oinam Ibemhal, followed by a session on 'Protocol for Management of Malnutrition in Children: Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), and Micronutrient Deficiencies' with discussions, presentations, and role play activities led by Julia Kom and W Monteshwori.
Another session highlighted nutrition, Personal hygiene and sanitation for Children 0-6 years) and dietary guidelines with resource inputs from Bajilee and Seema-rani.
The afternoon sessions focused on growth monitoring techniques using Poshan Tracker, led by O Ibemhal, and concluded with session on parental engagement, community mobilisation and creating a safe environment for children, facilitated by W Binata and others.
