Imphal, June 16 2025:
SAYON celebrated its second foundation day by organising a blood donation camp at Singjamei Chin-gamakha Meisnam Mandop on Monday in collaboration with Shija Blood Centre & Transfusion Service, Langol.
The camp was held under the theme 'Ima Leibakidamak' as part of the ongoing observance of World Blood Donor Day 2025 .
Briefly speaking at the inauguration programme, SAYON assistant secretary Meikam Nanao opined that grievances of the Meetei and Kuki communities stem from negligence of MLAs in fulfilling their duties.
He also alleged that the central government's inaction despite the presence of armed Kukis during the Leitanpokpi incident demonstrates its indifferent attitude toward the Meeteis.
However, he stated that such unwanted situation is not solely the fault of the central government, but also fallout of the state leaders lacking unity and their failure to discharge their mandated responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Shija Blood Center & Transfusion Services, in a release, informed that the camp conducted as part of commemorating World Blood Donor Day 2025, witnessed the participation of around 40 voluntary donors.
The initiative was conducted under the global theme, "Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives", highlighting the life-saving importance of regular blood donation and the vital role of community participation in maintaining a safe and sufficient blood supply, it said.
The Shija centre conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all donors and members of SAY-OM, Chingamakha for their active support and unwavering commitment to such humanitarian cause.
The Blood Center remains dedicated to promoting voluntary blood donation as a foundation for accessible and quality healthcare, particularly emergency and surgical care, affirmed the release.
