UG cadres nabbed, arms recovered in joint search

Imphal, May 12 2025:
Total of 16 cadres of various armed outfits have been apprehended and 17 weapons, 17 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war like stores recovered during search operations launched by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps from May 5 to 12 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP in areas under Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Chandel and Senapati districts.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) the joint operations conducted on the basis of intelligence inputs covered Tingri in Imphal West district, Chamol Top in Chandel district, T Minou in Tengnoupal district, Taphou Kuki village under Senapati district and Sajirok in Imphal West district.
The recoveries include one each AK-47 and 56 rifle, INSAS rifle, SLR rifle, SBBL rifle and carbine, two modified .303 rifles, IEDs, grenades, bolt action single barrel rifle, three .22 rifles, four 9mm pistols and ammunition and war like stores.
The operations resulted in apprehension of 17 cadres of various proscribed organisations, who along with the recovered items have been handed over to Manipur police.
