ABVP commemorates 77th foundation day

To commemorate the 77th Foundation Day of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and National Students' Day, ABVP Manipur organised a programme titled "Dhyeya Yatra - A Journey Towards National Reconstruction" at the JNMDA, here, on Tuesday.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Kamlesh Singh, national secretary of ABVP, as the chief guest.
Prof W Chanbabu Singh, vice chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, was present as guest of honour.
Other dignitaries included Kh Rajen Singh, Kshetra Karyawaha of Assam Kshetra; Gautam Philem, state secretary of ABVP Manipur; and L Kamei, state vice president of ABVP Manipur.
Addressing the gathering, Kamlesh Singh reflected on ABVP's journey since its inception in 1949, highlighting its growth into the largest student organisation in the country.
He encouraged students to contribute actively to national development through education, service, and character building.
Prof Chanbabu Singh lauded ABVP's role in nurturing student leadership and promoting academic integrity, while Kh Rajen Singh spoke on "Panch Pariwartan" - ABVP's five-fold transformation agenda focusing on education, youth, culture, environment, and social harmony.
In his remarks, Gautam Philem underlined the core values of ABVP - Gyan, Sheel, Ekta (knowledge, character, unity) - and urged the youth of Manipur to be torchbearers of positive change in the state.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from L Kamei.
The programme featured cultural performances, student speeches, and a collective pledge to strive for national unity and social transformation through the spirit of the Dhyeya Yatra.
