RPI-AVP mulls Edu Committee for IDP students

Announcing that an Education Committee would be formed in 2026 to ensure free education for the internally displaced students, Republican Party of India (Athawale) Manipur State vice president Sapam Kangleipal informed that the party would be funding the hostel fees of a displaced student from Gwaltabi staying at the Sawombung relief camp, who would be pursuing engineering at Rohini College, Kanyakumari.
On Monday, Kangleipal met IDPs from Gwaltabi at the Sawombung camp and heard their grievances.
In this regard, Kangleipal said that the IDPs from Gwaltabi are staying in relief camps at Gwaltabi and Nongada.
Among the IDPs, only two are government employees.
Fortunately, one of the displaced students from Gwaltabi would soon be off to study at Rohini College, Kanyakumari for which he decided to fund the hostel fees for six months.
He then said that an Education Committee for Gwaltabi village would be formed in 2026 to ensure free education for the displaced students.
In addition, a public meeting would be held on August 9 to form and Education Committee for Lamlai AC to assist the violence affected students of Sanasabi, Thamnapokpi, Yaingangpokpi, Sabungkhok Khunou and Sabungkhok village, he informed.
