Pherzawl DA reviews NMBA campaign

Imphal, July 04 2025:
Pherzawl district administration, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office, held a review meeting on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at the DC's office conference hall on Thursday.
The meeting, chaired by ADC Joel G Haokip, was attended by additional SP Lunzamung Tungnung, Vangai SDO Lalthanzam, officials from the District Legal Services Authority and representatives of Lenruol Development Agency.
The meeting reviewed past activities under NMBA, with members agreeing to conduct awareness programmes including a public rally on substance abuse.
In a separate meeting later in the day, ADC Joel Haokip chaired discussions on the implementation of the government of India's Cashless Treatment Scheme for Road Accident Victims 2025.Additional SP Lunzamung Tungnung, District Nodal Officer for eDAR, briefed participants on eligibility and reporting protocols.
He informed that victims are entitled to up to Rs 1.5 lakh for free treatment for seven days at designated hospitals.
However, delays in reporting to the police within 24 hours or failure to transfer patients from non-designated hospitals could affect eligibility.
ADC Joel stressed inter-de-partmental coordination and designated AC to DC Lalsuong Gangte as the district's Grievance Redressal Officer.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Health Department, NHIDCL, PWD and other stakeholders.
