Van Mahotsav 2025 celebration continues

Thoubal, July 03 2025: In continuation of the week-long 76th Van Mahotsav 2025 celebration, Thoubal Forest Division organised district level Van Mahotsav 2025 at Thoubal Khunou community hall on Thursday.

The programme was attended by Thoubal deputy commissioner (DC) Hannah Kamei as chief guest and DFO Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee as president, while SP Shivanand Surve, 10th Battalion BSF commandant Nirapjeet Boparai, 86th Battalion CRPF assistant commandant Kamei James Rongmei and Thoubal Municipal Council Ward No 18 caretaker councillor Moirangthem Ravi were guests of honour.

As part of the event, prizes were distributed to the winners of Spot Painting Competition organised for students from classes IX to XII in connection with the observance of International Day of Biological Diversity 2025.In the competition, Art-ina Chingtham (class X) of Khongjom Standard English School was awarded the first position, and her schoolmate Athokpam Alchana Devi (class X) the second prize as M Lanchenba Meitei (class IX) of Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching received the third prize.

Meanwhile, consolation prizes were awarded to Ningthoukhongjam Santosh (class IX) of Khongjom Standard English School, Moirangthem Token (class IX) and Jonish Konthoujam (class X), both students of Grace Cottage Academy.

The function also attended by district level officers, police officials, CRPF and BSF personnel, members of local clubs and women groups and students, concluded with plantation of around 1000 saplings by the participants.
