Imphal, September 02 2024:
Communist Party of India CPI) Manipur State Council has strongly criticised the chief minister accusing him of inaction following a recent drone bombing incident at Koutruk and Kadangband villages.
The attack carried out by Kuki militants resulted in the death of a woman and left a dozen others injured.
In a statement, CPI Manipur State Council condemned the use of drone bombing technology, which is banned under international law.
The party claimed that the deployment of such advanced warfare techniques by militants highlights the weakness of the government in dealing with proscribed armed elements.
It is shameful for the government to showcase its power against the innocent and law-abiding civilians while failing to take decisive action against militants who openly defy the law, the statement said.
They further questioned the chief minister's response to the incident while adding that this is not the time for the CM to hold on to his chair.
