12 new Covid cases detected; positivity rate remains high

Imphal, June 30 2025:
The state reported 12 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 255, according to the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).
The daily positivity rate stood at 27.9 per cent, with only 43 samples tested in the 24-hour period.
Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new cases, with eight infections, followed by Imphal East with four.
No new cases were detected in other districts.
At the same time, 13 patients were discharged after completing home isolation, bringing the state's active caseload down to 97, while 158 people have recovered with no fatalities, suggesting a persistent yet manageable wave of infections.
A total of 849 tests have been conducted across the state so far, with an overall positivity rate of approximately 30 per cent.
Imphal West accounts for majority of the cases, with 174 infections out of 527 samples tested so far, followed by Imphal East with 58 positive cases from 167 tests, and Thoubal 10 cases from 50 samples.
