AR donates blood, aids snakebite victim

Assam Rifles personnel donated four units of blood to a critically ill patient at JNIMS Hospital, here on September 20 while on Sunday, the AR soldiers provided prompt medical assistance to a snakebite victim in Sorde village, Ukhrul district.
According to a PRO 1GAR (S) release, in the first instance at JNIMS Hospital, the patient's family urgently needed blood, and Assam Rifles responded promptly, offering the vital gift of life.
This compassionate act not only brought immense relief to the family but also underscored Assam Rifles' commitment to humanitarian service beyond their military roles, said the PRO.
Further informing that on Sunday, another emergency arose when Reimei, a resident of Sorde village, was bitten by a snake while returning from the market.
She was swiftly brought to the Assam Rifles Company Operating Base at Sordg, where she received immediate medical attention.
Upon examination, it was determined that the snake was non-venomous, and basic first aid was administered.
Reimei is now recovering well at home, the release added.
