Many mourn demise of P Sonamani

Several organisations expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of retired IPS officer and socio-political commentator Potsangbam Sonamani.
In separate releases, United Committee Manipur, Meetei (Meitei) Tribe Union, Manipur People's Front, Kanglei People's Confederation, IPSA, PANDM, ACOAM-LUP, IPAK, KSA, ERDO, LOYALUP, ANDOK, KANGLAMEI, CLK, KIL, AKSIL, MIKL, SWA, Jiribam Women's of Kangleipak, IPS Jiribam Branch, SWA Jiribam Branch, KSA Jiribam Branch and Indigenous People's Organisation Manipur described the demise of Sonamani as huge loss for Manipur.
Sonamani was widely respected for his sharp and thoughtful analysis of Manipur's socio-political landscape, which he consistently shared through both state and national media.
His perspectives significantly contributed to raising public awareness and shaping discourse on critical regional issues, re-counted the organisations.
They also stated that Sonamani's unwavering commitment to public service and deep-rooted integrity in advocating for the people of Manipur have left an indelible mark on the collective consciousness of the state.
Condolence meetings were observed and prayers offered for the departed soul to rest in peace, said the organisations, while extending solidarity to the aggrieved family in their hour of crisis.
