Senapati, August 19 2025:
In a major step towards strengthening law and order, as well as ensuring highway safety, Senapati district police have established a Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) in the Police Control Room of the SP Office, Senapati.
The RMU is now linked to 12 strategically installed CCTV cameras covering critical stretches of highway under the jurisdiction of Mao, Tadubi, Maram, and Senapati police stations.
Through this initiative, police officers can monitor real-time movements, track suspicious activities, ensure smoother traffic management, and respond swiftly to emergencies.

This initiative is part of the district police's commitment to leveraging technology for smarter policing and to building a safer environment for all citizens and travellers.
According to police sources, the initiative will deliver improved 24/7 surveillance on the highways, a quicker police response to accidents or incidents, enhanced public safety for commuters and transporters, and represents a significant step towards tech-driven policing in Senapati.
