Four UG cadres arrested; weapons, vehicle recovered

Imphal, May 18 2025:
Search operations in different part of the state resulted in arrest of four cadres of different armed outfits and recovery of weapons and stolen vehicles.
According to a statement issued by Manipur Police Control Room, security forces arrested a cadre of the armed KCP (PWG) identified as Elangbam Sailesh Singh (29) of Leishangthem Thoudam Mayai Leikai Leirak No 6 from Leirongthel Pitra on Saturday.
One .32 pistol, three rounds, a mobile phone and sim card were seized from him.
A cadre of KYKL identified as Ningthoujam Romen Singh alias Nanao (35) of Pangaltabi Makha Leikai, involved in recruiting new cadres, was arrested from near Khabeisoi 7 MR gate along with a mobile phone while a cadre of Pambei-led UNLF named as Oinam Roshan Singh (20) of Moidangpok Awang Leikai but presently residing at New Keithelmanbi was rounded up from Khumbong Bazar.
He faces charge of involvement in extortion from truckers operating along the NH-37 .
Three mobile handsets with sim cards and Rs 2500 were recovered from the captive's possession.
Another cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA involved in extortion activities has also been arrested from Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leirak.
The arrestee has been identified as Heikrujam Umakanta Singh alias Uma (26).Meanwhile, security forces recovered one each SMG carbine, modified CMG with magazine, DBBL gun, 9mm pistol with magazine, tear smoke shell (Soft nose), stun shell, tear smoke shell, and BP jacket, 20 rounds of 9mm calibre and five each PEK explosives and BP helmets from Kumbi Setupur foothills under Kumbi police station.
On the other hand, Manipur police recovered a stolen/snatched vehicle on May 16.A total number of 43 stolen/snatched vehicles have been recovered by the police so far, according to the Control Room statement.
