High Court celebrates I-Day

Imphal, August 17 2025:
The High Court of Manipur on Friday celebrated the 79th Independence Day at the High Court complex with chief justice K Somashekar unfurling the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem played by the band platoon of Manipur Police Training College, Pangei.
The chief justice also paid homage to freedom fighters and highlighted the importance of safeguarding the Constitution, which he said remains the cornerstone of the nation's democratic values.
As part of the ceremony, contingent of 164th battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) presented the Rashtriya Salute.
The event was attended by Justice A Guneshwar Sharma, Manipur Judicial Academy director Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui, Bar Council of Manipur chairman Brajabihari, High Court Bar Association of Manipur president N Kumarjit, All Manipur Bar Association president Ch Bimolchandra, and registrar general of the High Court Ojesh Mutum, along with judicial officers, members of the bar, and staff of the registry, according to a statement issued by deputy registrar (Judicial) Sheikh Aasif Shah.
