Raj Bhavan examines UAL grievances

A meeting chaired by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and attended by the officials of departments concerned delved on the demands of the Uripok Apunba Lap (UAL) and assured that the demands will be addressed and fulfilled at the earliest possible time.
The meeting held at the Raj Bhavan conference hall was attended by PWD chief engineer, MAHUD director, Traffic Control police, Imphal West SP, MSPDCL managing director and representatives of UAL .
Speaking to reporters in this regard, UAL publicity secretary Nambam Chingthang informed that during the 30-minute meeting with the Governor and officials of various departments, the key points outlined in the memorandum submitted to the Governor were thoroughly discussed.
Issues raised included the deteriorating condition of major roads in Uripok, non-functional streetlights, and frequent traffic congestion in areas around RIMS and other health centres, which have been causing severe inconvenience to the public.
The Governor advised the officials concerned to look into the grievances and initiate necessary action, said the secretary, and appreciated the Governor s prompt response and concern, on behalf of the UAL .
