Kpi conducts civil defence mock drill under Operation Abhiyas

Kangpokpi district administration on Saturday conducted a large-scale civil defence mock drill under Operation Abhiyas, reinforcing its commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness.
Held at Elite Higher Secondary School, the drill began at 9 am with air raid sirens and emergency alerts.
It featured coordinated simulations of disaster scenarios including search-and-rescue operations, casualty evacuation, simulated blackouts, deployment of fire services, setting up of temporary medical camps, and the relocation of civilians to safe zones.
More than 500 participants, including security personnel, healthcare workers, NCC cadets, and local volunteers, took part in the exercise.
The mock drill aimed to test the district's capacity to respond swiftly and effectively in the event of a major disaster or hostile attack.
DC Mahesh Chaudhari, and SP Manoj Prabhakar monitored the drill and addressed the press following the exercise.
"The success of today's drill reflects Kangpokpi's operational readiness," said the DC, commending the coordination between departments, CRPF, fire services, medical teams, and the public.
SP Manoj Prabhakar stated, "Operation Abhiyas is a rehearsal for resilience.
We want the public to feel confident that help will arrive swiftly when needed" .
ADM Kangpokpi Shokhonam Baite, SDO T-Waichong Hemant Kumar, CEO SH-ADC Doujapao Haokip, officials from 112 BN CRPF, local police, and community leaders also attended the event.
The administration had issued a prior advisory to prevent panic, allowing the event to proceed without disruptions.
Observers, including students and local residents, responded positively, expressing a greater awareness of civil defence protocols.
