Free oral, dental health camp held

A free oral and dental health camp was organised by Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal in collaboration with Department of Public Health Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics Dental College, Eco-Network Manipur, Samagra Shiksha, and the Education Department at Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief Camp on Friday as a part of "Nan-hi - Muskaan (Little Smile) - Outreaching activities for the underprivileged children under ISPPD, 2025".According to a release from EcoNetwork Manipur president Shinthangamba Laishram, the programme was conducted under the supervision of Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS associate professor and head Dr Bhoomika Wairokpam, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry junior residents Dr Anjuman Shahni Kh and Dr Jyoti Kumari, interns Dr Prasanta Das and Dr Zulubenla Jamir, Department of Public Health Dentistry intern Dr Obit Melong and Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics intern Dr Boyin Libang.
As part of the programme, an awareness session on communicable diseases and importance of Oral health was delivered by Dr Bhoomika while issues covering proper brushing technique and hand washing techniques were demonstrated by Dr Anjuman Shahni Kh.
Along with distribution of toothbrushes, clothes, light refreshments, various books (72) were donated by Books and Coffee, Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, faculties and students of Dental College RIMS.
Notebooks, colouring books and colours, pens, pencils, erasers were also distributed.
Oral health screenings and necessary treatments were also provided during the camp.
