JAC seeks probe, refuses to claim Sanatombi's body

Imphal, May 10 2025: Joint Action Committee (JAC), formed in connection with the unnatural death of RK Ongbi Hidam Ningol Sanatombi Devi, demanded fact-finding report concerning the woman's demise within three days and decided not to claim the body until the report is received.

Notably, RK Ongbi Hidam Ningol Sanatombi Devi, 38 of Waiton Mayai Leikai, Imphal East was found hanged in suspicious circumstances at her husband's shop cum residence on May 8 .

Sanatombi Devi originally hailed from Langdum Mayai Leikai and married RK Nishikant about nine years back.

Suspecting the hand of RK Nishikant's family members in Sanatombi Devi's death, her parental family and the JAC demanded a thorough investigation and resolved not to claim the body until a fact-finding report is provided.
