NIELIT opens study centre in Thoubal

Thoubal, May 09 2025: A new study centre of NIELIT, an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has been inaugurated on Thursday at the Women Income Generation Centre (WIGC) complex, Thoubal Wangmataba.

The inauguration function of 'NIELIT Study Centre' was attended by NIELIT, Imphal executive director Dr Y Jayenta, Academic head Dr Angom Buboo, WIGC founder secretary Oinam Indira, Fancier Higher Secondary School, Thoubal principal K Saratchandra and Peace and Freedom Academy, Thoubal principal Salam Jotin as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Oinam Indira affirmed WIGC's commitment to contribute towards making Thoubal an educational hub in the state.

She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the NIELIT director for establishing the study centre within the WIGC complex.

Dr Y Jayenta informed that the Thoubal sub-centre is the fourth facility under NIELIT Imphal, following those in Senapati, Churachandpur and Kakching.

He added that all short-term courses available at NIELIT Imphal will also be offered at the Thoubal sub-centre.

Furthermore, the Thoubal centre will facilitate the admission process for all types of long-term courses offered by NIELIT Imphal.
