Friendly football remembers SDPO Anand

A friendly football match was organised at Sainik School (SS), Imphal football ground on Sunday in memory of (late) SDPO Chingtham Anand Kumar, who laid down his life, while on duty at Moreh town.
Before the start of the match, floral tributes were paid to the photo of the police officer, a football enthusiast, by his family members, SS, Imphal principal colonel A Rajiv, Education (S) director Ng Bhogendra, former students and Anand's batch mates, and observance of two minutes' silence in respect of the departed soul.
Speaking on the occasion, colonel A Rajiv recalled that Anand, who was enrolled in the SS, Imphal in 1985 and passed but in 1992, was part of the school teams which competed in zonal level tournaments as well as the Subroto Mukherjee Football Cup.
Mentioning that the friendly match is a tribute to the slain officer and his love for football, the principal described as a great honour for the school to organise the match.
In the friendly match, Sainik FC defeated Education (S) Department Team 5-0 .
