Imphal, May 18 2023:
Boston, USA-based Knowledge Exchange Net-work (KEN) Manipur, which is an organisation of Mani-puri diaspora, has appealed to all communities resid-ing in Manipur to maintain peace and order and not to succumb to rumours and fake news.
In a release, KEN presi-dent Bishwajit Okram and vice president Alian Suantak Vaiphei condemned all acts of violence and urged fel-low Manipuris to shun it and choose the path of peace.
"The Manipuri diaspora is equally affected and sad-dened by the current crisis as we have our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends and relatives who are proud inhabitants of the land.
We are traumatised to see the horrific state of our motherland where we all belong to," it said.
KEN Manipur also em-phasised that the burning, vandalising and looting of houses, religious places and private & public properties will only bring misery and sorrow.
"Nobody gains from vi-olence but only long-term mistrust among us, which will further prevent us from growth and prosperity and harmonious co-existence in the days to come." "We express our sincer-est condolences to all the victims of violence who have lost their loved ones and precious hard-earned belongings," it conveyed, while adding that state ma-chinery must be activated to safeguard every inhabitant of the place.
Any disagree-.
ment should not be a source of discord but an opportu-nity for innovative ideas to solve the unsolvable.
KEN Manipur further ap-pealed to the government of Manipur led by chief minis-ter N Biren Singh to ensure safety, protection and peace for all the communities in Manipur.
Meanwhile, expressing concern over the cata-strophic communal conflict that broke out in the state since May 3, Celin Digi-tal has appealed to parties concerned to forgive one another and work for re-storing peace.
In a release, Celin Digital chairman Phanjoubam La-najit Singh opined that as the conflict occurred due to anger, it is time to restore peace through a common dialogue.
Lanajit also urged all sections of the society to remember that those indige-nous people who are born in the state will one day breathe their last nowhere else, but in Manipur itself.
